La Salle County Courthouse rededicated

COTULLA, Texas—The La Salle County Courthouse was rededicated on Jan. 26, following a four-year restoration made possible with more than $3.5 million in grant funds from the Texas Historical Commission (THC) through its award-winning Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program.

La Salle County unveiled its official website this week in an effort to make information more available for local residents. The new site went live on Thursday, Dec. 6th.

Above the main image on the homepage, the new site features a list of Elected Offices and County Departments for residents to obtain more specific information.  Soon, the site will allow citizens to have up-to-date information on getting a marriage license, registering vehicles and finding polling locations and paying county fees online.

As work continues on the new site, county offices and departments will identify the services they provide. It will also be much easier for residents to stay informed of county meetings. On the Commissioner’s Court page there is list of upcoming meetings with links to agendas. Upcoming Meeting and Agenda postings may be the most visited feature of the site.

By staying informed, citizens can be more involved with input into the county government process and become more knowledgeable on the many other things that happen at the county level. Keeping people aware of what’s happening in La Salle County is the primary goal.
